Sisi praises “capable 2020” military drills

Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi, praised on Saturday the military drills “capable 2020” held by army forces stationed at Berenice base through his official Twitter.
The president commended the high capabilities and professionalism of the Egyptian military forces stationed at Berenice base.
President Sis expressed his pride after witnessing the high capabilities shown by the Egyptian military forces and their outstanding combat skills:
“I am honored to express my pride of the high professional capabilities of our armed forces during the opening of the “Berenice” base, and the high efficiency and combat skills reflected by “capable 2020” drills in order to protect the safety and stability of this nation, amid multiple challenges that surround our country and storm the region,” read the president’s tweet.
The Berenice military base in Egypt’s southeastern governorate Red Sea governorate has an airbase and a naval base, according to local media, and was built over a course of a year on 150,000 feddans (155,676 acres).
It aims for protecting investments and natural resources and for facing security threats in the Red Sea. It also aims to secure the international navigation between the Red Sea and the Suez Canal linking the Red Sea to the Mediterranean sea.
