Egypt, Germany mull means to promote cultural, artistic coop

Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem has probed with a German delegation means to strengthen cultural and artistic cooperation between Cairo and Berlin.
The minister on Sunday 26/1/2020 received the German delegation led by Semper Opera Ball’s manager Hans-Joachim Frye.
The minister said such a meeting would open new horizons of cooperation with the German side, particularly with the near opening of the New Administrative Capital-based opera house and the city of culture and arts.
Abdel Dayem added that cooperation projects and initiatives have been launched to cooperate with Semperoper Dresden, in addition to a proposal to participate in the Semper Opera Ball, the largest classical entertainment event in Europe slated for February 7.
Head of the delegation said the visit aims to open new channels to have creative partnership with Egyptian culture.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has received the Semper Opera Ball's Dresden Order of St. George, in recognition of his efforts to achieve security, stability and development in Egypt.
The German delegation under Frye handed over the medal to President Sisi during a meeting here on Sunday, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The award comes in recognition of President Sisi's strenuous efforts in different fields over the past years, notably his endeavors to regain security and stability to Egypt, amid a highly volatile region, as well as his key role in attaining Africa's aspirations for development, the spokesman quoted Hans-Joachim as saying.
