Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli attended, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Al Azhar International Conference on the Renewal of Islamic Though.

 

House Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb, former president Adly Mansour, presidential adviser Ibrahim Mahlab and a number of ministers from Islamic countries were present.

 

The conference, to run till Tuesday 28/1/2020, focuses on means of renewing religious discourse, refuting misconceptions about Islam as well as the role of the religious, academic, and international institutions in this regard.
