Sisi takes part in AU peace council summit on Libya

The itinerary of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's current visit to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa entails his participation at the African Union's (AU) Peace and Security Council summit on Libya, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Rady said on Saturday 08/02/2020.
President Sisi, also, will attend the meeting of the African Mechanism on Western Sahara as well the summit of African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), the spokesman added.
The president is due to hold, on the sidelines of the AU summit in Addis Ababa, one-on-one meetings with a galaxy of African leaders and heads of state along with world dignitaries taking part in the summit, Rady noted.
Earlier in the day, President Sisi arrived to Addis Ababa to take part in the 33rd African Union (AU) Summit, due to be held on February 9 -10.
The two-day summit will be held under the theme "Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa's Development," with the participation of 31 heads of state.
President Sisi will hand over the chairmanship of the AU to South Africa, in the presence of its president Cyril Ramaphosa.
