Shoukry affirms Egypt's commitment to cooperation with African countries

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has expressed Egypt's commitment to pursue efforts of promoting joint cooperation with African countries in the coming period and supporting joint efforts to achieve the aspirations of all Africans.
Shoukry's statements came during a meeting on Thursday 05/03/2020 with African ambassadors accredited in Cairo, praising relations with African states and the achievements made during Egypt's presidency of the African Union.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said Shoukry pointed out that the president of the republic pays due attention to all African causes.
According to Hafez, the foreign minister reviewed achievements made by Egypt during its AU presidency especially in promoting regional integration and economic and social development in the continent, as well as peace and security in Africa.
Shoukry's meeting with the African envoys tackled the latest developments concerning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and Egypt's efforts in this respect to reach an agreement, added Hafez.
The meeting witnessed an exchange of viewpoints between the top diplomat and African envoys on issues of mutual concern and bilateral relations.
