Egyptian, South African FMs probe coronavirus-induced challenges

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Wednesday 6/5/2020 with his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor the African Union’s activities and meetings in light of Egypt’s handing over its chairmanship to South Africa last February.

In a phone call initiated by Pandor, the two ministers reviewed a number of regional issues of mutual concern, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.
Shoukry and Pandor discussed the challenges resulting from the novel coronavirus, with the two sides asserting the importance of coordinating and rallying all efforts to address the consequences of the global pandemic at the continental level
The phone call also touched on means of fostering cooperation between Egypt and South Africa.
