PM decides continuing COVID-19 precautionary measures till end of Ramadan

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli decided to continue the precautionary and protective measures against the novel coronavirus pandemic till the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The measures included that a partial curfew to remain from 9 pm till 6 am.

As of Friday May 8, malls and shops are allowed to open all days of the week, including Fridays and Saturdays, till 5 pm, to enable citizens to get their basic needs and services, said the prime minister.

Cafes, night clubs, bars, cafeterias, casinos, parks, gardens, beaches and all the entertainment facilities should be remained closed.

Table service at restaurants are still banned but restaurants can now open their doors for clients to take their orders.

The State will continue to reduce the number of staff at governmental offices for two more weeks, to lessen pressure on national services, noted the premier.

The government exempted some vital businesses from these measures, including supermarkets, pharmacies, groceries, and other activities which are seen important to the needs of the people.
