Chinese Foreign Ministry: Great leap in relations with Egypt

Egyptian-Chinese relations have achieved a great leap under the leadershipof Presidents Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Xi Jinping, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
In statements to MENA correspondent in Beijing on Saturday 30/05/2020, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian added that bilateral relations are promising.
Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with China 64 years ago, the Chinese diplomat said on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries on May 30, 1956.
Zhao pointed out to the inception of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China in 2014, adding that the past few years have witnessed a historic progress and great leap in bilateral relations.
He, also, highlighted joint cooperation for fighting the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Egypt and China will continue enhancing joint cooperation and bilateral relations, the spokesperson added.
