Egypt's embassy in Kuwait receives poll cards of expats in Senate elections

The special electoral committee at the Egyptian Embassy premises in Kuwait's Hawalli governorate started to receive polling cards sent by Egyptian expats via express mail to participate in the Egyptian Senate elections, set for Aug 9-10.

Egyptian Ambassador in Kuwait Tareq el Koni checked on the availability of sanitizers in the committee before it starts operation.

The committee members also sanitized the envelopes of the poll cards before opening them as part of the precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In statements to MENA, Ambassador Koni said Egyptian expats are allowed to send their voting cards from all over the country till Aug 12.

He urged all Egyptians in Kuwait to participate in the elections to choose the members of the new parliamentary house.

Senate elections for Egyptian expatriates are set for two days, while voting at home will start on Aug 11 through 12.
