Egyptian candidate to UN post gets 49 votes out of 54

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that Ambassador Mohamed Ezzeddin, the Egyptian candidate to the membership of the United Nations Economic and Social Council gained 49 votes out of a total of 54. The ministry added, in a statement, that the elections were held in the first meeting of the Council in its new session in New York. This victory shows the efficiency of the Egyptian candidate in the fields of international law and international human rights law, said Egyptian delegate to the UN Ambassador Mohamed Iddris.
