PM: Central Business district to be icon of new capital

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday said that the Central Business District will be the landmark of the New Administrative Capital and a destination for Egyptians.


The premier, along with Housing Minister Essam el Gazzar, was touring the new capital to inspect the laying down of the foundation stone of level 45 of the 385-meter high iconic tower, the tallest in Africa.

The premier issued directives for the Chinese company tasked with building the tower to finalize it by the end of October 2021.

The housing minister briefed Madbouli on the finalized projects at the business district which is being undertaken by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), noting that almost 43.5 percent of the tower's construction has been finalized.

Also, the premier was briefed about the progress of work flow in constructing other towers, out of which 10 are set to be finalized by the end of this year.

Madbouli, meanwhile, hailed the business district project which is envisaged to create some 8,000 job opportunities by the end of 2020.
