PM reviews plan for developing Al-Fustat lake, surrounding area

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired on Thursday 1/10/2020 a meeting to review a plan for developing Al-Fustat lake and the area surrounding it.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Holding Company for Construction Hisham Abu Al-Ata and Engineering Consultant Mohammed al-Khatib.
The premier asserted the importance of the project which he said comes as part of the government's efforts to implement presidential directives on developing the historical Cairo, adding that besides its importance in beautifying the area, this project will also help offer many job opportunities.
Madbouli entrusted the Egyptian Dredging Company with starting dredging works at the lake, directing the project's consultant to prepare the working program and implement design drawings to immediately start work at the project.
For his part, engineer al-Khatib reviewed the proposed plan for developing the area surrounding the historical lake, pointing out that it includes a project to establish a social club, restaurants, two vehicle fueling stations, an environment-friendly hotel, hotel apartments, a shopping mall and green areas
