PM directs govt to ensure making delayed payments to exporters before year-end

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has directed the government to follow up the procedures related to making the delayed export payments to beneficiaries by the end of December; in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives in this regard.

Commitment to the deadline set is a key step that aims to stimulate the industry, Madbouli said during a meeting with Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea’ and executive director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab.

Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Petroleum Tareq el Molla, and Minister of Planning Hala el Saeed took part in the meeting via video conferencing.

During the meeting, the finance minister reviewed the measures taken to ensure that payments are made to exporters before the end of the year.

The prime minister said the State has recently taken a set of steps to stimulate the industry, adding that the government is keen to discuss and probe all relevant future actions.

The government has offered an unprecedented 30 million square meters of industrial lands in the past few years, Madbouli noted.
