FM reiterates Egypt's support to UN global counter-terrorism strategy

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has reaffirmed Egypt's support to the UN global counter-terrorism strategy.
Addressing a ceremony held on Saturday 24/10/2020 at al-Tahrir Palace in Cairo to celebrate the United Nation's Day, Shoukry said that Egypt would continue to work, through the UN relevant mechanisms, for boosting all efforts seeking to eradicate terrorism and extremism.
Highlighting the special importance of the event, which marks the 75th anniversary of founding the United Nations and its founding charter, the minister said that ceremony provides an opportunity to reiterate Egypt's commitment to the goals and principles of the UN charter, Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.
Shoukry also renewed Egypt's pledge to cooperate with all UN member states to reinforce the pillars of collective multilateral work to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of people all over the world, the spokesman added.
A host of ministers, ambassadors and representatives of regional as well as international bodies attended the ceremony along with others representing UN offices operating in Cairo.
