Sisi heads for Athens on official visit to Greece

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in Athens on Tuesday evening to discuss bilateral ties with Greek officials, the Egyptian presidency said. El-Sisi will meet with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as well as Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou to discuss various regional and international issues of common interest including the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and efforts to counter terrorism and extremist thought.
The Egyptian president will also meet with the Greek energy and environment minister to discuss the economic ties and cooperation in the energy sector as well as economic exchange and investment opportunities in Egypt, especially in the country’s mega-projects.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Wednesday11/11/2020 at the Greek Presidential Palace where he was given an official reception ceremony.
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou received him at the palace.
The visit of the Egyptian president comes within the framework of both countries' keenness to boost cooperation and consultation at the bilateral level and at the three-way level with Cyprus.
The president will hold talks here with senior officials on boosting joint cooperation especially in the energy sector.
