Sisi receives former Namibian president Nujoma

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday 14/11/2020 received former Namibian President Sam Nujoma, in the presence of Director of Egypt's General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel and the Namibian ambassador in Cairo.
Sisi welcomed Nujoma's visit to Cairo and asserted Egypt's appreciation of bilateral relations with Namibia, according to Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.
Sisi also congratulated Nujoma on receiving Kemet Boutros Ghali Foundation peace prize in recognition of his efforts in the domain of settling conflicts in the African continent as well his prolonged struggle to achieve Namibia's independence.
Nujoma, meanwhile, hailed Egypt's tireless efforts, under the leadership of president Sisi, in upholding peace and security in Africa alongside commitment to Silencing the Guns in Africa by 2020 initiative.
He also highlighted appreciation Egypt enjoys in Namibia and the African continent due to its historic support to the independence of the African countries throughout the past century.
The meeting also discussed a number of regional and African issues of mutual concern including the Ethiopian dam in which Nujoma asserted his country's support to Egypt to reach a solution for the crisis that achieves the interests of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
