Egypt won membership of OIC's Permanent Human Rights Commission

Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for International Humanitarian and Social Affairs Mahmoud Afifi has been elected member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC).
The voting took place on the sidelines of the 47th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in the capital of Niger, Niamey, on November 27-28.
In a statement on Saturday 28/11/2020, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez said that the Egyptian diplomat's winning of the highest number of votes signifies voters' great appreciation of Egypt's leading role in the activities of international and regional organizations in general and the functioning of human rights mechanisms in particular.
