The General Command of the Armed Forces assigned its specialized sections with sterilizing the Indoor Halls Complex of Cairo International Stadium using sterilization vehicles and heavy equipment.

The move comes in preparation for holding the opening ceremony of the 27th IHF World Men's Handball Championship that will be held in Egypt from January 13 to 31.

The measure is part of the active role played by the army to support all the state bodies to face the novel Covid-19 pandemic.

The sterilization work includes floors, walls, corridors, offices, halls and rooms and aims at protecting all participants against the coronavirus, said the military spokesman.
