Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayed El Quseir witnessed on Tuesday the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Agricultural Research Center and the Egyptian Countryside Development Company on offering technical support to beneficiaries of the 1.5 million feddan project.
Head of the Agricultural Research Center Mohamed Soleiman and Chairman of the Egyptian Countryside Development Company Amr Abdel Wahab signed the protocol.
The agriculture minister said the protocol comes within the framework of the ministry’s role in providing technical, technological and research support to all agriculture-related projects, especially the national ones, to which President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attaches importance, including the 1.5 million feddan project.
Quseir noted that his ministry provides support as regards the inventory and classification of arable land and crop structures, in addition to the development of livestock, fish and poultry.
He also highlighted the ministry’s role in offering support to the youth and investors who obtained land as part of the 1.5 million feddan project, noting that the agriculture sector has achieved a growth rate of around 4 percent in spite of the conditions imposed by the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
