Sisi witnesses Interior Ministry's ceremony marking 69th Police Day

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday 25/1/2021 witnessed the Interior Ministry's celebration marking the 69th Police Day at the premises of the Police Academy in New Cairo.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq and a number of ministers and state officials are attending the ceremony.

The ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran.
The ceremony started with a short performance by a number of actors to underline the heroic actions of police troops at the famous police battle of Ismailia, 1952.

Police Day commemorates resistance by Egyptian police to British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952, which caused dozens of police officers to die.

Then, Major Salah El Hussein, who was well known for saving a female from a bomb explosion that caused an amputation of his arm, delivered a word in which he voiced readiness to protect his homeland with his other arm.

He saluted the souls of his colleagues who sacrificed their lives for the safety and security of Egypt.

A group of children were later admitted to the theatre to sing a national song. 
Then, a documentary film was displayed to highlight the achievements of the interior ministry during 2020 as it has carried out a number of preemptive strikes against terrorist hotbeds, on top of which the arrest of acting guide of the banned Muslim Brothern group Mahmoud Ezzat along with other sleeping cells that have been targeting police and army troops over the past period.

The police troops have also joined hands with the army elements to defeat terrorism in North Sinai, the film showed.

The film shed light on combating crime in all its forms as well as targeting the most dangerous criminal elements and drug smugglers nationwide.

The ministry has also strived hard to fight the economic crimes which aim at harming the national economy especially the fake and expired supplies, unlicensed weapons and works of art.

During the past year, the Interior Ministry inaugurated a training center on simulation of security threats.

The Egyptian police troops ranked third by the UN in the classification of countries which are mostly contributing to peacekeeping missions worldwide.

Also, a peacekeeping training center was established at the premises of the Police Academy which is the first of its type in the Middle East region.
Then, a simulation show was screened on the arrest of a number of dangerous criminal elements involved in smuggling drugs and arms. The show carries the name of "Protection of the Homeland" which reflected the close cooperation between policemen and citizens in the protection of the homeland.

Later, some police elements, males and females, performed a song on their full preparedness to carry out their tasks in the security and protection of the state.

Then, a simulation show was screened on the arrest of a number of dangerous criminal elements involved in smuggling drugs and arms. The show carries the name of "Protection of the Homeland" which reflected the close cooperation between policemen and citizens in the protection of the homeland.
