President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated the national team on reaching the quarterfinals of the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship. In a Facebook post on Sunday, Sisi said he is very proud of the team's stunning performance, stressing his never-ceasing support for all sports activities in Egypt. President Sisi welcomed all teams participating in the tournament, wishing the national team success in making a new sports achievement. In Egypt's final Group IV game, the national team mounted a superb comeback to claim a precious 25:25 draw against Slovenia. The result meant Egypt marching on to the quarterfinals with seven points in the second place awaiting the final group game between the Russian Handball Federation and Sweden, while Slovenia only earned six points.
