Egypt, Germany probe cooperation in energy domain

Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker discussed during a virtual meeting with State Secretary for Energy of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs bilateral cooperation in the renewable energy and hydrogen production techniques.
In a statement issued on Wednesday27/1/2021, the Egyptian embassy here said more than 100 representatives of Egyptian and German companies operating in the energy sphere took part in the gathering.
The Egyptian minister has posted the participants on the unprecedented leap and progress so far achieved in the Egyptian energy sector, along with a growing interest in the use of green hydrogen; being a promising zero-emissions technology, the statement said.
The minister highlighted Egypt's success in upping rate of renewable energy resources to 20% as part of Egypt diversified energy mix, it added.
Shaker further referred to propitious future cooperation with giant German companies in the energy domain, citing cooperation with German's world record-breaking power plant company Siemens in this regard, said the statement.
