Rajoub briefed the Egyptian ambassador on the latest developments in Palestine, particularly with regard to the national reconciliation file.
He also updated Tayel on ongoing preparations for holding general elections in the country, in addition to the meeting that is set to bring together representatives of Palestinian factions.
The meeting is due to be held in Cairo in February.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian ambassador reiterated the continuity of Egypt's support for the national Palestinian dialogue with a view to holding the national elections on democratic and fair foundations.
