President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that Egypt's national security is closely related to Gulf security.

During his meeting with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Al-Hajraf in Cairo on Sunday, Sisi highlighted the guiding principles of Egyptian policy which aims to bolster Arab solidarity within a framework of mutual respect and genuine willingness to fend off common threats and preserve Arab national security.

The two sides reviewed ways to promote the robust ties between Egypt and the GCC countries, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Meanwhile, Hajraf praised the pivotal role played by Egypt, under the leadership of President Sisi, in defense of Arab national security and Arab causes.

He also commended Egypt's commitment to promoting joint Arab action to deal with regional challenges and support inter-Arab relations based on the principle of non-interference into the domestic affairs of Arab countries.
