Egypt partakes in outlining OECD's recommendations for AI

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat highlighted Saturday 15/05/2021 Egypt's effective participation in outlining the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s recommendations for responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Egyptian minister said Egypt is keen on enhancing its global position in the AI field, along with bolstering regional and international cooperation on this score.
Egypt seeks to benefit from AI potentials to find innovative solutions for challenges faced by the Egyptians and improve their lives, the minister noted.
Earlier, OECD has invited Egypt to share its experience and initiatives launched in the AI field which is displayed on this link: https://www.oecd.ai/.../how-countries-empowering-citizens.
It is worth noting that Egypt led the creation of the African Working Group on AI, under the umbrella of the African Union, as well as chairing the Arab AI Working Group.
Egypt is also taking part in the UNESCO's international expert group that works on drafting the first global recommendation on the ethics of AI.
