Minister of International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat praised Thursday 21/10/2021 the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) efforts in support of child protection in line with the national developmental goals of Egypt Vision 2030.

During a meeting Thursday with UNICEF Representative in Egypt Jeremy Hopkins to review ongoing cooperation between the UNICEF and Egypt within the framework of a UN-Egypt 2023-2027 strategic partnership program the minister said, preparations are under way for launching Generation Unlimited (GenU) Initiative - currently embraced in a number of world countries - in Egypt, with view to supporting young entrepreneurs and honing their business skills within the coming stage in support of Egypt’s 2030 Vision.

GenU strategy identifies five key areas. First, opening new routes to engage and involve young people and amplify their voices. Second, strengthening focus on access to education and health services.

Third, placing economic empowerment to the fore of development strategies, through a focus on training and jobs. Fourth, working harder to ensure young people’s rights are upheld and promote their civic and political engagement. And fifth, prioritizing support for young people in conflict and in humanitarian crises, including their participation in peace processes.

For his part, the UNICEF official said he is looking forward to increased cooperation with the ministry of international cooperation, along with concerned parties to heighten support to all drives meant to protect children and empower youth and women.
