Abdel Dayem, ICESCO director to open Cairo 'Capital of Islamic Culture 2022' activities events Sunday

Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem and Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Salim al Malik will open on Sunday the celebrations to mark Cairo's choice as the "Capital of Culture in the Islamic World" in 2022.
An exceptional session of the photography competition, titled Turathi (heritage), which is organized by the National Organization for Urban Harmony will be launched.
Abdel Dayem noted that choosing Cairo as the capital of culture in the Islamic world reflects the pioneering position and boosts the goal of the Culture Ministry and ICESCO to enhance the cultural communication and humanitarian principles of coexistence and tolerance.
The minister pointed out to laying down an agenda of creative events which highlight the features of the Egyptian identity with the participation of all bodies and sectors.
A number of ministers, MPs, and ambassadors will attend the event.
