President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt looks forward to fostering constructive cooperation with Bahrain and Jordan, in a way that achieves the three countries' interests and serves the joint Arab action, especially in light of the great challenges arising from several regional and international developments.

President Sisi's remarks came during a trilateral summit Sunday with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Jordanian King Abdullah II in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

At the beginning of the summit, President Sisi welcomed the Bahraini and Jordanian kings, lauding the strong and historical ties among the three countries at both official and popular levels, the spokesman added.

On their part, the Bahraini and Jordanian monarchs expressed their keenness to promote cooperation ties with Egypt to the level of strategic partnership, given that these relations are the cornerstone for preserving regional security and stability.

The three leaders probed joint coordination on different issues of common concern, as well as the latest regional and international updates, the spokesman noted.

They also welcomed the anticipated summit in Saudi Arabia that will bring together the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the US.
