Petroleum Minister Tareq el Mulla said Egypt's mining sector provides promising investment opportunities, inviting local and international investors to seize the opportunity to do business in this growing sector.

In his word at the opening of Egypt Mining Forum 2022 on Monday, the minister said Egypt has a distinct geological nature and many types of minerals, sources of energy, distinguished mining cadres, and the infrastructure including road and transport networks, airports and seaports overlooking two of the most important maritime trade routes globally.

He invited international companies to invest in the concession areas of Shalateen Mineral Resources Company to explore gold and minerals there after the discovery of a gold deposit in the Eastern Desert's "Iqat" region, in addition to the investment opportunities available in the Golden Triangle area.

Mulla also underlined his ministry's efforts to develop the Egyptian mining sector as per an ambitious program.

The Egypt Mining Forum is Egypt’s premier mining, minerals and commodities event taking place at the Sky Executive Resort in Cairo. Hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Forum brings together key regional stakeholders, international mining companies, and investors who are looking to do business in Egypt and North Africa.
