Amr Shabana
Amr Shabana is a professional squash player from Egypt. He won the World Open in 2003 and 2005, and reached the World No. 1 ranking in 2006.
Shabana stunned the squash world in December 2003 when, seeded ninth, he captured his first World Open title, beating Thierry Lincou in the final 15-11, 11-15, 15-8, 15-14.
In 2004, Shabana finished runner-up at the British Open, losing in the final to David Palmer 10-11 (4-6), 11-7, 11-10 (3-1), 11-7.
Shabana won his second World Open title in 2005, beating Palmer in the final 11-6, 11-7, 11-8.
In April 2006, Shabana became the first Egyptian player to reach the World No. 1 ranking. He also won the Bermuda PSA Masters that same month.
