President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron were very fruitful, said Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi.
In a phone call with ETC TV station, Radi said that President Sisi discussed with the French finance minister means of fostering bilateral relations.
They agreed to intensify cooperation in the upcoming period in the field of new and renewable energy ahead of Egypt’s hosting of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC, set for the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh in November, the spokesman added.
Egypt is cooperating with French companies to localize industries related to manufacturing electric vehicles and producing green hydrogen, he further noted.
Egypt has great potentials in producing green hydrogen from solar and wind energy, in addition to Benban Solar Park, which is one of the world’s largest solar power plants and which is built in Aswan, he said.
Sisi and Macron had held plenary talks to discuss the Ukrainian crisis and ways to contain it, as well as the international community’s role to find a peaceful solution to this crisis.
They also discussed the Libyan crisis and the situation in Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, he added, noting that the two leaders agreed on cooperating to supply Egypt with wheat.
European leaders are keen to listen to President Sisi’s viewpoint to solve the current global crises, Radi said.
