PM led Ministerial Economic Committee

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Economic Committee at the Cabinet’s premises in New El Alamein city to probe the current economic conditions and efforts exerted by the State to face the negative effects of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
The meeting was attended in-person or virtually by the Central Bank of Egypt governor along with the ministers of petroleum and mineral resources, tourism and antiquities, supply and internal trade, planning and economic development, finance, international cooperation, public business sector and trade and industry in addition to other senior officials in the different governmental departments.
Talks took up the current status of Egypt’s stock of strategic goods and efforts made by the government and CBE to secure foreign currencies needed for exporting essential commodities and petroleum products, Cabinet spokesman Nader Saad said.
The meeting also covered measures taken by the government to rein in price hikes in the local market and boost the incoming tourism movement as well as arrangements and bookings for the winter tourist season, he added.
