Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Monday with Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el Gazzar to follow up on the status of utility projects being carried out nationwide, especially those implemented under the Decent Life Presidential Initiative.
The prime minister directed the officials concerned to facilitate the necessary procedures for manufacturers with a view to strengthening the local utility equipment industry, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said.
The State is willing to provide incentives for manufacturers and the government encourages them to start manufacturing such products, Madbouli noted.
The meeting also tackled efforts exerted to apply modern methods for sewage treatment via locally manufactured materials.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the National Organization For Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWASD) Ehab Khedr, and HCWW Vice Chairman Ahmed Moawad.
