Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi over his participation in the opening of the second Egypt - International Cooperation Forum (Egypt - ICF) in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

This reflects Egypt’s political leadership’s keenness on multilateral cooperation and the importance of confronting climate changes through joint action among parties concerned as well as committing to climate pledges to guarantee reaching a better future for the upcoming generations, the minister added.

This came during the concluding session of the three-day forum that saw the participation of a host of African ministers of finance, economy, and environment along with a galaxy of senior officials, international figures, development partners, international financial institutions and representatives of NGOs and research centers.

She added that Sisi’s speech during the opening session had sent a clear and strong message to the world that efforts to face climate changes in Africa require more support from the international community especially that Africa is the most affected continent by the climate changes.

She also noted that the forum had witnessed a number of discussion sessions and workshops that called for more climate action, transition to green economy and reducing the impact of climate changes especially in the developing and emerging countries and African states.
