Sisi directs officials to complete efforts to increase land areas reclaimed in Toshka

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed the bodies concerned to complete all details related to efforts to increase the areas of land reclaimed in the Toshka region, as well as to depend on agricultural methods that are commensurate with the nature of the soil and the climate there.
Sisi made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday 29/9/2022 with Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Hisham Swefy, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Ahmed el Shazly, and Director General of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) of the Armed Forces Walid Abul Magd, among other officials.
The president ordered maintaining the integration of work mechanisms among the sectors concerned; with a view to achieving the desired strategic goal of expanding the nation's area of agricultural land in a way that helps develop the agricultural production sector, achieve self-sufficiency in strategic crops, and provide thousands of job opportunities, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
During the meeting, Sisi followed up on the status of the national project for agricultural production and land reclamation in the Toshka region in southern Egypt; within the framework of the State's strategy to increase the area of cultivated land nationwide.
The president was also briefed on efforts that are meant to develop road infrastructures.
