Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, before his departure from Doha.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said President El-Sisi congratulated Qatar's leadership and people on the success of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony and the honorable start of the tournament, befitting the status of Arab states. President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the hospitality and warm reception he received, and reiterated the deep historical relations between Egypt and Qatar.

Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation for the President's attendance at the opening ceremony of the World Cup and his visit as a dear guest of Qatar. He emphasized that this visit would strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries, particularly with the positive progress witnessed at all levels during the recent period.
