Egyptian Ambassador to Malta meets with Maltese president

Maltese President George William Vella stressed that Egypt is a pivotal and powerful state in the Mediterranean region.
He made the remarks on Saturday 26/11/2022 during a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Malta Khaled Anis, the Foreign Ministry said on its social media page.
The president conveyed greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, stressing that promoting bilateral relations comes at the top of the political agenda of the Maltese Foreign Ministry.
He congratulated Egypt for the successful hosting of the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).
For his part, the ambassador reviewed means of strengthening bilateral ties, reviewing the embassy's strenuous efforts to resume direct fights between the two countries.
He highlighted the positive impact of this step on encouraging tourism and boosting trade and investments between the two sides.
The talks tackled the conditions of Egyptian workers in Malta as well as regional issues of mutual concern.
