The 22nd World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit (WTTC)

The 22nd World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit (WTTC) was launched in Riyadh under the slogan "Travel for a Better Future", during the period 28-30 NOVEMBER 2022.
The global summit is one of the most influential travel and tourism events throughout the year. The event is held with the participation of around 3,000 people, including world tourism experts from the public and private sectors, as well as the participation of many leaders and inspiring women in the humanitarian, public, and business fields from different countries.
Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khateeb, said in a statement: “We are proud to host the 22nd World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit (WTTC) in Riyadh, as this summit draws a road map for a sustainable and innovative future in which the public and private sectors participate, in the presence of a large number of ministers and prominent CEOs".
For his part, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Eissa called for taking additional steps to achieve sustainable tourism development and make the tourism and travel sector more sustainable, resilient and flexible.
He shed light on his ministry's strategy for transforming the tourism industry in Egypt into an eco-friendly and sustainable sector.
In this regard, he pointed to the measures adopted by various hotels and tourist facilities in cooperation with the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) and the relative tourism chambers to attain all standards of sustainable tourism.
The minister underlined the importance of raising awareness about sustainable tourism practices and reducing the carbon footprint of the travel and tourism industries.
