Sisi: Egypt looks forward to boosting cooperation with French companies

 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt looks forward to continuing and boosting cooperation with French companies working in the country, notably the French defence and technology group Thales.

Sisi's comments came during his meeting on Sunday with Thales Chairman and CEO Patrice Caine, in the presence of Vice-Admiral Ahmed Khaled Hassan, the supervisor of the military industrialization, Major General Tarek Zaghloul, chairman of Arab International Optronics, Christophe Salomon, Thales executive vice president and Sherif Barakat, the new country director for Egypt, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

The two sides discussed prospects of cooperation between the French company, the Arab International Optronics and Benha Electronics Company in the fields of optics, electronics and cyber security.

In this regard, the president issued directives for training and qualifying young engineers in these areas.

On his part, Thales Chairman said the French group is keen to foster fruitful cooperation with Egypt with regard to localizing the industry of optics.
