Upper axis of Tema project was inaugurated by President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi on 1/5/2023. The project aims to link the western agricultural road, Sohag / Assiut, with the western desert road, starting from the railway bridge, and ending with the 40 km long Mazoun tunnel.

The project is an extension of the Nile axis, which connects the eastern agricultural road, Sohag/Assiut, with the western agricultural road, Sohag/Assiut.

Tema axis works to reduce traffic accidents and facilitate transportation to ease traffic congestion on the road between the governorates of Upper Egypt, and pave the way for the establishment of new urban communities.

The total cost of the project amounted to EGP 243 million.

Project feasibility:

The project eliminates completely the problem of river ferries and links the eastern desert road with the western desert road, passing through the western agricultural road, and also reduces road accidents.
