The 6th Cairo International Dental Congress “Towards Digital & Green Dentistry”

Over the last decade, CIDC has become a regional & international congress that gathers the top world speakers, aiming to exchange up-to-date knowledge and enjoy 4 days of a memorable experience.
Over 3 days, the 6th CIDC, with the participation of international speakers and attendees, is dedicated to increase the knowledge exchange between dentists and scientists.
Speakers from all over the world will present, discuss and debate the most recent advances in the field of dentistry.
The Scientific program covers all topics of dentistry and is accompanied with an exhibition of leading dental companies in the region.

Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar delivered a speech at the inauguration of 6th Cairo International Dental Congress, in which he said that his ministry adopts a determined and developed strategy to improve the quality of dental services, asserting the importance of the dental health to maintain the general health.
He asserted the keenness of the Ministry of Health to coordinate and co-operate with the Ministry of Higher Education to contribute to meeting the needs of the health sector.
He added that Egypt has distinguished human cadres in addition to its resources that make pioneering in the dental field.
The minister lauded co-operation and coordination between all the sectors concerned with putting the current and future vision that copes with the international criteria to improve the healthcare services.
He also thanked all the members of the higher consultation dental committee for their effective efforts and keenness on improving the dentist job and seizing all the cooperation opportunities to support and develop the dental services presented to the citizens.
For his part, Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht delivered a speech on behalf of Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour.
Elkhosht asserted that the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) - which was hosted by Egypt - reflects keenness on green and digital transition.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in COP27 in several activities, through Egyptian public and private universities, including the university's exhibition in the green innovation pavilion, which presented an action plan to meet climate change challenges, and addressed innovative solutions in addition to their impact on the environment and adaptation methods.
He added that the dentistry faculty is one of the university's top faculties, especially with regard to quality of education.
He also highlighted that the conference is part of the university's 2020-2025 strategic plan which coincides with the year of climate and transition to renewable and clean energy, noting that it also coincides with the centennial anniversary of establishing the Cairo University.
Abdel Ghaffar met with the members of the committee to put frameworks and mechanisms for work in the coming period to guarantee promoting the dental services in Egypt.
The meeting discussed the targets of the committee and the training mechanisms for the graduates of the dentistry colleges.
During the meeting, Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar thanked all the members of the higher consultation dental committee for their effective efforts and keenness on improving the dentist job and seizing all the cooperation opportunities to support and develop the dental services presented to the citizens.
Meanwhile, Dr.Hisham Abdel-Hakam, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University, and the conference president, said that the conference includes 25 training workshops and theoretical lectures for about 75 Egyptian professors and experts, as well as 25 international experts from different countries of the world, covering all medical specialties in the field of dentistry.
He added that the conference will also witness discussion sessions including dental specialists in various countries of the world, which contributes to achieving the maximum desired benefit from the conference and spreading research knowledge among all medical teams at the level of the governorates of the Republic.

At the conclusion of the conference activities, Dr. Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, and Dr. Hisham Abdel Hakam, President of the Conference, honored Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population by granting him the Shield of Distinction, in appreciation of his outstanding efforts and contributions in improving dental services, wishing him more success and achievements in the health sector.
