Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted Monday the necessity of going ahead with implementing the project of establishing the soda ash complex.
The project comes in implementation of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to start producing soda ash substance.
It aims at producing sodium carbonate to meet the needs of the local market and reduce imports.
Madbouli’s comments came as he was reviewing the progress made in the project with Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla Monday.
Molla gave a brief of the project, its location in the New Alamein City, and its importance in producing soda ash for achieving sustainable development and improving the Egyptian lime material.
The project is expected to meet the demands of the Egyptian market, reduce its imports, and create new direct and indirect jobs, he added.
