PM: Gov’t works on providing better health services to citizens

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has stressed that the state is very keen to offer better health services for citizens and carry out health initiatives under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The premier made his remarks on Thursday at a meeting with Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar to follow up efforts on upgrading healthcare and the implementation progress of presidential health initiatives.
The minister reviewed the implementation progress of the presidential initiative to put an end to the waiting lists for surgical procedures, noting that citizens have been provided with health services nationwide at a cost of EGP14.2 billion.
He said a 2 million patients benefited from the treatment at state expense mechanism at a total cost of EGP 14.4 billion.
The Health Ministry also pointed out that the ambulance authority supported the health system through supplying 345 medically-equipped ambulance vehicles in 2022, thus also backing the presidential ‘Decent Life’ initiative.
