Egyptian Writers Union to host 'Egyptian-Mexican day' celebration on March 30
Friday، 24 March 2023 - 10:29 PM

The international relations committee at the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, in cooperation with the Mexican embassy in Cairo, will hold a celebration titled "the Egyptian-Mexican Day," on March 30.
The celebration will host Mexican playwright, poet and storyteller Daimary Sánchez Moreno.
The history of Mexican literature was influenced by the principles of the Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, in the 18th century.
Mexico, initially known as New Spain, acquired independence from the Spanish Crown in August of 1821.
Juan Ruiz de Alarcón was a New Spain-born Spanish writer of the Golden Age who cultivated different variants of dramaturgy.
The most famous of his plays is La verdad sospechosa, (published in 1634). The first great French comedy in modern French literature, Corneille's Le menteur (The Liar), was confessedly modeled after it. Las paredes oyen (Walls have Ears) is often seen as a companion-piece since both plays deal with mendacity.
