Prime Minister Meets Tanzanian VP in AFDB Annual Meetings

On the sidelines of his participation in the annual meetings of the African Development Bank (AFDB) Group, Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouli met, on Tuesday 23-5-2023, with Dr. Philip Mbango, Vice President (VP) of Tanzania.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the developing cooperation ties with Tanzania, which represent a model of cooperation between the countries of the South, especially with regard to the construction of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam by the Egyptian Consortium.
In this context, Dr. Moustafa Madbouli stressed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regularly follows the development of the dam construction and always gives directives to quickly and efficiently implement its works.
The Prime Minister also commended the results of the visit of Ms. Samia Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to Egypt last year, as well as the growing Egyptian investments in Tanzania, which ranked eighth among the investments of the world's countries in Tanzania.
For his part, the Vice President of Tanzania stressed his country's aspiration to reinforce the cooperation with Egypt, praising the significant role played by Egyptian companies in the construction of the most important national project in Tanzania; namely the dam project.
He also expressed the Tanzanian government's ambition to hold the fourth session of the joint committee for cooperation with Egypt this year.
In this context, Madbouli directed the relevant authorities to hasten the necessary planning for the meetings that will take place this year.
