Archaeological mission unearths 2 ancient embalming workshops in Saqqara

An Egyptian archaeological mission in the Bubastian Cemetery at the Saqqara Necropolis unveiled a new archaeological discovery, containing the biggest two ancient embalming workshops in the area.
This was announced by Tourism and Antiquities Minister Ahmed Issa during an international press conference to announce the new archaeological discovery.
The press conference was attended by Giza Governor Ahmed Rashed along with a host of ambassadors and representatives of the various foreign embassies.
Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) Moustafa Waziri also attended the press conference.
During the presser, Issa extended thanks to the members of the archaeological mission, led by Waziri, for their relentless efforts and their crucial role in preserving the Egyptian antiquities.
For his part, Waziri said that the mission managed to unearth a tomb in the area as well as several mummies, including animals.
The mission also managed to unveil more than 50 wooden coffins along with a well that contains 157 wooden coffins, he added.
He further said that another well was discovered, containing more than 250 archaeological coffins.
