PM welcomes initiative to form company of expat investors

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said on Sunday 28/5/2023 that Egypt is keen on having Egyptian expats contribute to investment projects at home. 

The premier welcomed an initiative to establish an “Egyptians abroad investment” company, noting that his government will act to provide all kind of support needed in this regard. 
He was speaking during a meeting earlier Sunday to probe the initiative proposed by a number of Egyptian businessmen abroad. 
Attending the meeting was Emigration Minister Soha Gendy, who said that the company was one of the recommendations of the conference of Egyptian entities abroad in 2022. 
The idea was very much welcomed by Egyptian expats, 10 of whom formed a group of founders of the company, Gendy said, adding that an agreement was initialed with the 10 founders.
The firm should be run by Egyptian investors abroad and not by the government, the minister made it clear.
