NEA announces electoral symbols for 2024 presidential voting nominees

The National Election Authority (NEA) on Thursday 28/09/2023 issued a decision to determine 15 electoral symbols for candidates in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
The official gazette published the NEA's decision setting the different electoral symbols for the nominees.
Presidential candidates can choose from the 15 symbols published by the NEA in the state's official gazette.
Egypt uses symbols for candidates in its elections to help illiterate voters make their choice on the ballot.
The election symbols include star, sun, lion, horse, eagle, rooster, scale, airplane, watch, palm tree, boat, umbrella, telephone, glasses, and ladder.
Walid Hamza, the head of the NEA, had announced that voting in the 2024 presidential election in Egypt will take place on 10,11,12 December 2023, with Egyptians abroad to cast their votes 1,2,3 December 2023.
In case of a runoff, the vote will take place on 8, 9, and 10 January 2024 inside the country and on 5, 6, and 7 January 2024 outside the country, said Hamza.
These election will be held under full judicial supervision, added Hamza.
Presidential candidates must secure endorsements from 20 MPs or 25,000 registered voters across at least 15 governorates, with a minimum of 1,000 endorsements from each governorate.
Seven political figures have revealed their plans to run in the presidential race.
