President El-Sisi Meets France’s President Macron in Dubai

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said the two Presidents exchanged views on ways to further advance the outstanding relations between Egypt and France, in light of the strategic nature of these relations in various areas.

The meeting also focused on a multitude of regional and international issues, notably climate change as well as the escalation in the Gaza Strip. The two Presidents exchanged views on the recent developments, and President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s vision with regard to the crucial need for a ceasefire and for expanding the delivery of humanitarian relief and aid to the sector. The President also highlighted Egypt’s efforts to receive wounded Palestinians and evacuate foreign nationals. President El-Sisi and President Macron agreed on the vital importance of reaching urgent solutions to the ongoing crisis and taking action to ensure the access of humanitarian assistance, while stressing the necessity to launch a comprehensive political process, aimed at reaching a just settlement for the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution, in line with the relevant international terms of reference.
