Executive Director of the National Election Authority (NEA) Ahmed Bendari asserted on Monday that more than 45 percent of eligible voters have casted their votes in presidential election.

Bendari pointed out that there was heavy demand for the committees in all governorates, especially in the expatriate committees, which numbered about 360 committees across the republic, what led to the running out of voting cards in some of them, and the supply of more cards.

Expatriate committees have been established in all governorates, with a minimum of one committee in each governorate, to facilitate the voting of expatriate workers in these areas and those who are outside their places of residence on voting days, it’s concentrated in industrial, commercial and tourist areas and major cities.

The headquarters of the expatriate committees have been identified in cooperation with competent authorities, such as the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the Ministry of Local Development, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The head of the Central Operations Room of the National Elections Authority indicated that the electoral process was proceeding regularly in all committees throughout the country without any difficulties or obstacles for voters, with full cooperation from citizens and the parties concerned with the election procedures, which confirms the efficiency of the logistical arrangements that were made under full judicial supervision, in which more than (15 thousand) judges participated at the republic level.
